Heaven is For Real John 14:1-6 Heaven is a Real Place! What is Heaven Like?

Heaven is a Real Place!  Heaven is a genuine place that does exist.  Some have trouble visualizing this because of how the Bible describes it.  Some have trouble believing it is real because of science and man’s knowledge.  The Bible says it is a material, spatial place.  If it is not real, then the risen Christ could not have ascended to it. Without Heaven, the resurrection is futile – 1 Corinthians 15:17. Heaven is For Real John 14:1-6

1 Corinthians 15:17 (NASB) 17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.

Heaven is a Real Place!  Heaven is our home.  “for you” – concept of a personal dwelling  Cain became a wanderer without a home.  Genesis 11 tells of the scattering of men.  Abraham loses his sinful home in turn for a better home – Genesis 12:1; 15: Heaven is For Real John 14:1-6

Genesis 12:1 (NASB) 12 Now the L ORD said to Abram, “Go forth from your country, And from your relatives And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you.” Genesis 15:18-21 (NASB) 18 On that day the L ORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your descendants I have given this land, From the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates: 19 the Kenite and the Kenizzite and the Kadmonite 20 and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Rephaim 21 and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Girgashite and the Jebusite.”

Heaven is a Real Place!  Heaven is our home.  “for you” – concept of a personal dwelling  Cain became a wanderer without a home.  Genesis 11 tells of the scattering of men.  Abraham loses his sinful home in turn for a better home – Genesis 12:1; 15:  Abraham’s hope was not in the home of this world – Hebrews 11:10. Heaven is For Real John 14:1-6

Hebrews 11:10 (NASB) 10 for he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

 The Bible says we are aliens. Heaven is For Real John 14:1-6

What is Heaven Like?  No doubt we will be there – 2 Cor. 5:6-8. Heaven is For Real John 14:1-6

2 Corinthians 5:6-8 (NASB) 6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord— 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight— 8 we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.

What is Heaven Like?  No doubt we will be there – 2 Cor. 5:6-8.  But what do we know about Heaven?  We will see Jesus there, which makes it a spiritual and Godly reunion.  We will see loved ones there – Genesis 25:8; 25:17; 35:29; 49:33; 2 Samuel 12: Heaven is For Real John 14:1-6

Genesis 25:8 (NASB) 8 Abraham breathed his last and died in a ripe old age, an old man and satisfied with life; and he was gathered to his people. Genesis 25:17 (NASB) 17 These are the years of the life of Ishmael, one hundred and thirty-seven years; and he breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people.

Genesis 35:29 (NASB) 29 Isaac breathed his last and died and was gathered to his people, an old man of ripe age; and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him Genesis 49:33 (NASB) 33 When Jacob finished charging his sons, he drew his feet into the bed and breathed his last, and was gathered to his people.

2 Samuel 12:22-23 (NASB) 22 He said, “While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, ‘Who knows, the L ORD may be gracious to me, that the child may live.’ 23 But now he has died; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me.”

What is Heaven Like?  No doubt we will be there – 2 Cor. 5:6-8.  But what do we know about Heaven?  We will see Jesus there, which makes it a spiritual and Godly reunion.  We will see loved ones there – Genesis 25:8; 25:17; 35:29; 49:33; 2 Samuel 12:  We will see each other not as we are now or have been, but as we are meant to be – 1 John 3:2. Heaven is For Real John 14:1-6

1 John 3:2 (NASB) 2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.
