Geographical approaches to major European issues, linking research to teaching, aspects of Masters and PhD studies in Geography Activities: Seminars and publications, on the European dimension in Geography, support for course development linking research and learning/teaching.

Thematic Pillars TP2: Geography for 21st century Themes: Communicating Geography into Society, improve knowledge of Geography in society, including issues like disasters, hazards and geoinformation, global issues and citizens. Geography in a Sustainable Future Activities: Promotion, lobbying, ambassadorship of the discipline Information gathering on Global Education. Toolkit for Education for Sustainable Development in higher education

Thematic Pillars TP3: Innovation and Futures (NOW Teaching in Europe) Themes: Geography in a changing world (empowerment, governance, democracy decision making) - Sustainable Development; Globalisation, Environment, local issues linking to innovation and futures. Future learning/teaching approaches, course sharing, Activities: Contemporary case studies of excellence, good practice, a possible publication on Alternative Futures, geographical perspectives.

Thematic Pillars TP4: Lifelong learning and employability Themes: Exciting learning and teaching in Geography, enhancing the effectiveness of both formal and non-formal geographical education, seeking excellence in learning and teaching Activities: Seminars and publications e.g. GeoInformation, online learning, modern, unique and rare approaches, fieldwork, ongoing work with connected networks.
