Baby Adolf The picture on the left first appeared in the United States in 1933 and was widely printed in newspapers. It was represented as being a picture of Adolf Hitler as a baby. It caused such a sensation that the German consul eventually felt obligated to denounce it as a 'fabrication.' Sometime in 1937 Mrs. Harriet M.W. Downs, of Westport, Conn., noticed the picture in a magazine and recognized the infant as her own son, John May Warren (who by then was eight years-old and didn't resemble Hitler at all). The original picture of her son is shown above on the right. An unknown hoaxer had retouched the image to remove the frilly bonnet and darken the baby's eyes.

This mechanical leaflet is about the U-boat war This mechanical leaflet is about the U-boat war. It shows the future German seamen what they can expect if they go to the U-boat weapon. In the first position the leaflet says: 'We sail to England'. If you pull the label at the bottom, the allied message comes in sight: 'We go down into a cold grave'.

There was a very famous newspaper-like leaflet dropped over Germany by the RAF. It was called "Luftpost". In nearly every paper was at least one cartoon. This cartoon is taken from a July 1941 number and depicts Hitler as a leader that doesn't care about his soldiers because they are the only thing not 'on ration'.
