Introduction * CAPMAS uses several Guides and classifications for different statistical activites in collaborating with all users of the guides. * It updates them according to the latest international versions. * The most important guides in the economic activites are (ISIC.VER4) and (CPC). CAPMAS is now using these guides and classifications for all its own statistical activites and researches. * In addition,it offers the supporting and consoultance for other local organization and nighbour country.

1 – Determine all economic activities, occupations, education qualifications and products and uses a simple coding methods in order to simplfy computer use of codes. 2 – Producing standard language for the exchange information on the different classifications at the local level and internationally. 3 – Identifying national statistics structure to be compared with national and international statistics.. Purposes of Guides And Classifications

Using of Statistical Guides and Classifications in Egypt 1- They are Used in all the statistical activities in capmas. 2- They are Used in statictical researches in capmas. 3- Supporting and offaring consultance for some users that using code.

Types of Guides and Classification Used in CAPMAS,Egypt 1 – International Standard Industrey Classifications ISIC 2– Central Product Classification CPC 3 – International Standard Classification of Occupation. ISCO 4 – Education Standard Classification Degree. ESCD 5 – Administrative Units Guide. AUG 6 – Standard International Trade Classification. SITC 7 – Classification of Individual Consumption According to Purpose COICOP 8 – Harmonized System. H.S I will focus on the frist two guides

Using of International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC ver.4) in Egypt * International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC.Revision 4) is the current guid used for all economic activites statistics in CAPMAS. * It contains 21 table categories which are denoted by the alphabetic characteres. * These table categories are classified into sections (2 digites),sectors (3 digites),subsectors (4 degites) * The following table shows in brief the differences between the old guide (ISIC VER.3) and the new guid (ISIC VER.4) which is the current guid in CAPMAS.

The CAPMAS is now using CPC guide (CPC VER.1) It is now updating according to the new CPC ver.2 guide but it has not finished yet. Central Product Classification (CPC)
