The Complete Subject
The complete subject Describes who or what the sentence is about It includes a noun or pronoun and all the describing words in the subject part of the sentence.

How do I find the complete subject? 1. Find the verb 2. Ask who or what before the verb 3. The answer is the subject part of the sentence.
Let’s try one: The little girl spilled popcorn on the floor. What is the verb of this sentence? The little girl spilled popcorn on the floor.
Finding the complete subject: The little girl spilled popcorn on the floor. We know that spilled is the verb, so now we ask: Who spilled popcorn on the floor? The little girl spilled popcorn on the floor.

Finding the complete predicate The Complete Predicate
Finding the complete predicate: 1.Find the verb 2.The verb is the first word in the complete predicate. 3.The verb plus all the words that come after the verb make up the complete predicate. Sometimes #3 is not true, but for our sentences it will be the case.

The Simple Subject
Simple Subject The simple subject is the main noun in the complete subject. It is usually just one word. Sometimes a sentence may have more than one simple subject, but we will talk about that later!!!!
