The Case of the Missing Rumbleometer A Deep-Ocean Mystery from the New Millennium Observatory at Axial Volcano Part 3 - Movies and Animations The NOAA research vessel Ron Brown v. 2

Part 3 - Multimedia Part 3 of the NeMO Curriculum features six movies and animations related to the rumbleometer story. There is no audio track with any of the movies. Movie 1: A black smoker hydrothermal vent Movie 2: Close up of tubeworms living at a vent Movie 3: View of the rumbleometer stuck on the bottom Movie 4: A virtual fly-through of the rumbleometer area Movie 5: Animation showing how the rumbleometer got caught in the lava flow, was uplifted, and set back down Movie 6: The rumbleometer rescue

How to play the movies All of the six movies are Quicktime movies. They must be downloaded separately from the “Part 3 - Movies” link at: INSTRUCTIONS: The files must be in a folder called “NeMO_Curr_movies” and this folder must be located in the same location as this Powerpoint file (NeMO_Curr_Part3.ppt). MacIntosh users: Simply click on the images on the following pages to play each movie. PC users: Click on the movie icon in the lower left corner of each page. This will start up the Quicktime Player application outside of Powerpoint in order to play the movie (Quicktime movies will not play within Powerpoint for the PC). Quicktime Player software can be downloaded free at:
