 More than 100 million animals are tested on annually.  61% of animals used suffer no pain  31% have pain relieved with anesthesia  6% experience pain. (  90% of animals that are tested on are rats or mice.  The animals are used in experiments include dogs, cats, sheep, hamsters, guinea pigs, and primates.

 Most animals are only used once in an experiment, but some are used multiple times.
