Following a very nasty encounter at the Battle of Fallen Timbers (natives suffered heavy loses), Native America nations signed the Treaty of Greenville. They would give up much of the Ohio River Valley in exchange for $10,000 a year. Not that the federal gov’t would honor this deal for long…..
