Of Mice and Men Day Seven DUE TODAY: Chapter TWO

What is the bunkhouse? It is the place where George and Lennie will be staying--- the other men that work on this ranch stay there as well.

Why would George claim to be Lennie’s cousin? As an explanation to the boss for why George takes care of Lennie

Are they really cousins? NO- page 24

What is the stable bucks name? Crooks

Describe the stable buck. The stable buck is a black man, hunched over with a crooked back. He’s smart (he reads books), and he’s strong—He is abused by the boss whenever he is mad (because he is black).

Why is Lennie’s last name ironic? His last name is SMALL– he is anything but small.

What does the boss think George is doing to Lennie? The boss suspects George of taking Lennie’s money

Describe Curley. Curley is the boss’s son. He is confrontational, mean, and aggressive. He tries to compensate for his small size by picking fights with larger men.

Describe Curley’s wife. Curley’s wife is an attractive woman. She has “the eye,” which means that she’s a flirt.

Describe Slim. Slim is the “skinner” which means he drives the horse/mule teams in the field. He’s tall, skinny, and everyone listens and obeys him.
