All currently enrolled Lassen Community College students who have purchased a current ASB card shall be members of the ASB. All members are entitled to reduced or free admission to all of its activities, bookstore services and local merchant’s discounts. The ASB office is located in the Humanities Building room 101. Please call (530) ext 8932, or for additional information.

Lassen Community College NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION Organizations/Clubs In order to get the most from college life, students are encouraged to participate in one or more of the many clubs on campus. These clubs offer many opportunities for both social and educational contracts. Each club elects its officers and plans its own program for the semester. How successful it becomes depends largely upon the enthusiasm of its membership. If you are interested in becoming part of a club, or want to start your own organization, stop by the Associated Student Body Office, located in the Humanities Building.

Lassen Community College NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION Athletics Lassen Community College supports the theory that athletics makes an important contribution to the total education process. The college participates in a well- rounded program of intercollegiate athletics. Cougar teams compete in men and women’s basketball, soccer, and rodeo, men’s baseball and wrestling, and women’s softball and volleyball. Lassen Community College is a member of the Golden Valley Conference. All athletes at Lassen Community College are covered by insurance and must have a physical examination before participating in sports. Lassen Community College athletes will participate in in-state competition. Lassen Community College athletic programs are sanctioned by the Commission on Athletics (COA). Eligibility criteria: No student shall represent the college in any athletic contest unless they are enrolled in twelve units of work in regular or special courses as defined in the curricula of this institution. In meeting the units-of-work requirement, subjects, which have been failed, may be repeated, but those that have been completed with passing marks may not be repeated and will be included in meeting this requirement. In order to be eligible for a second sport, a student who has previously participated must have completed in the last term or semester of attendance at least twelve units of work. To be eligible for the second season sport, the student athlete must complete and pass 24 semester units between seasons of competition.

Lassen Community College NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION Bookstore The Lassen Community College Bookstore is located on campus between the Humanities and Creative Arts Buildings. The bookstore carries required textbooks and supplies for courses offered at the college. Miscellaneous office and school supplies are available along with Lassen College merchandise, clothing and reference materials. For hours of operation or additional information regarding the bookstore, please call (530)

Lassen Community College NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION Dining The cafeteria is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday through Friday. As part of the living arrangements, residents dine in the cafeteria located on campus in the Cougar’s Lair. A professional staff meets the culinary and nutritional needs of students and the campus community. The Cougars Corner, a student commons area, is also located in part of the cafeteria. Food Services cater various events, monthly concerts and activities that take place on campus and in the Cougar’s Lair. For students not living in the college residence hall, meals can be purchased through a punch card purchase system with punch cards available through the business office, or at the time of purchase (at the cash register).
