A noun refers to the name of a person, animal, place, or thing. There are types of nouns, They are, common noun, collective noun, abstract noun, proper noun. Proper nouns are the nouns that refer to a particular person, place, or thing. They always begin with capital letters. Examples; 1. Names of people: John, Victoria, Stanley,Tayo, Mary,etc 2.Titles before names of people begin with capital letters. Examples Engineer Brown, Chairman Tayo, Doctor Femi etc 3. Special Days such as Christmas Day, Ramadan, New year, Mothers’ Day. 4.Names of organisations such as Chrisland Educational Organisation,

Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria. 5. Names of the days of the week, months of the year. Monday, October etc. 6. Geographical terms: Europe, Africa, Far East.
