The Land  The Central Plains region is a mixture of a land and a really grassy green land.  It is not too hot not too cold, it’s just right.  There are streams and rivers.  A long time ago there where cattle drives.  They raise livestock like beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep, goats, hogs, chicken, & turkey.  Cross Timbers got its name from strips that cross the prairies

Industry Grand Prairie- Grand Prairies livestock provides beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep, and goats. They also provide corn, and other grains. Cross Timbers- They have a lot of trees that have been cut down, now farms in the area grow peaches, hay, peanuts, wheat, and sorghum.

The History Dinosaurs footprints were covered by dried mud millions of years ago. 113 million years ago parts of Texas was covered by sea. Dinosaurs roamed the shore.

Major cities Fort Worth was a stopping point for long cattle drives. Grand Prairie was a place where people raise livestock. Abilene was founded in 1881 near a newly built railroad. The rolling plains rocky soil is better for ranching than farming. The Cross Timbers area gets its name from the thin strips of forest that cross the parries. Some trees have been cut down.
