Perspective Drawing 7 Th Grade Art

The Definition of Linear Perspective drawing is…  Creating the illusion of depth and distance using guidelines.  Horizon Line: The line at which the sky and the ground meet.  Vanishing Point: The point at which all lines meet, or converge.

One-point Perspective only uses….  One vanishing point!

2-point perspective uses…  2 vanishing points!

Your project will be…  One-point perspective using the idea of one vanishing point and your horizon line.

Subjects of your perspective drawing are…  Some sort of city, town, or country scene in which a road is the focal point.  Do not get stuck in only a Chicago type city, think about other options!

Ideas  Ghost Town  Small downtown area  Chinatown in New York  Countryside road  Large City  Beach town  Pueblo style buildings

Some ideas and examples

More examples….

And some more.

Materials  Pencils  Paper  Colored pencils  Erasers  Rulers

This project will ….  Be sketched in your sketchbooks.  Be drawn lightly with a pencil to ensure quality.  Be traced and colored with colored pencils.  Be completed in 5-7 periods.  Be your best work! I do not accept sloppy final projects!!!!
