Estimated Costs for Workers’ Compensation Spinal Surgeries 01

Average $50,000 per surgery 10 surgeries = $500,000 Estimated Costs for a Workers’ Compensation Low Back Surgery* * Does not include costs of complications to surgery or repeated surgeries and higher residual disability rating due to surgical intervention.

Estimated Costs/Savings for Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression per 10 cases 02

Estimated Costs for Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression (NSSD) Valley Spinal Decompression Center 10 Surgical cases reviewed $150/case) for NSSD and accepted = $1,500 2 weeks (8 $225/visit = $1,800/case 10 trials = $18,000 Ten trial cases = $19,500

Assuming 30% of Patients Respond and Continue Treatment with NSSD There would be: 18 additional visits = $4,050 per person 3 $4,050 = $12,150 + initial trial $5,850 = $18,000 for total NSSD solution for 3 cases.

Total Savings for 30% Success with NSSD Surgery then required for remaining 7 patients = $350,000 +$18,000 from the successful NSSD cases +$13,650 for failed trials =$381,650 Total costs for all ten patients. Saves $118, % of costs saved.

Assuming 70% of Cases Progress to the Full NSSD Treatment Program*: 7 cases progress to full treatment program. 7 Full programs of care: $42,000 3 Failed trials $5,850 3 Surgeries for failed trials: $150,000 Total cost of care for ten patients: $197,850 Savings = $302,150 60% of costs saved * Typical of results to be expected in actual practice.

Pre and Post MRI’s NSSD Treatment 04

Pre and post MRI of a patient treated at Valley Spinal Decompression Center 52 year old male patient who was an electrical engineer with 7/10 low back and left calf pain. He had physical therapy treatments and medications with no success. His Pre‐MRI indicated a 5mm x 13mm x 8mm (ap x tr x cc) L4/5 disc extrusion with displacement and impingement of the L5 nerve root; moderate facet degeneration and ligamentum flavum redundancy. At the end of care (5 weeks later) the patient’s pain level at its highest was a 1/10 about 10% of the time. See the circled area’s BEFORE and AFTER.

PRE May 18, 2007 POST September 29, 2007 See the circled area’s BEFORE and AFTER. Pre and post MRI’s of a patient treated at Valley Spinal Decompression Center These are MRI’s of a patient who was treated on the Non Surgical Spinal Decompression Table. The left Image was taken BEFORE treatment began and the right image was taken AFTER Non Surgical Spinal Decompression. Dennis F. began his care with Dr. Shanahoff D.C., with pain at a level of 8 –10 on a 1–10 scale. Besides severe low back pain Dennis F. had pain and numbness radiating down his leg to his right foot. Symptoms were developing in his left leg and foot. Large doses of Vicodin did nothing to stop the pain. REMARKABLE RESULTS ON THE LEFT. After 8 weeks of treatment with NSSD, Dennis’s pain level was reduced to a 2 out of 10 without any pain medication. His post MRI shows the remarkable improvement in what had been a severe disc extrusion.

Advanced Technologies 05

DRX-9000 The DRX9000™ is a non-surgical spinal decompression technology; a non-invasive procedure that was developed for the treatment of lower back pain caused by disc herniation and degenerative disc disease. The process is effective in relieving low back pain by enlarging intradiscal space, improving disc hydration, reducing herniation, strengthening outer ligaments to help move herniated areas back into place, and reversing high intradiscal pressures through application of negative pressure.

SpineForce is the only machine in the world to strengthen the 180 intrinsic core spinal muscles. Rehabilitation after non- surgical disc repair program Evaluates core spinal muscle strength and balance Treats Low Back Pain Post-surgical low back rehabilitation Sports injury rehabilitation Anti-aging strengthening and conditioning Balance and coordination improvement Improves scoliosis due to muscle imbalance Aids in preventing future back injury.
