Project History 1,500 homes and 200 businesses County service area for wastewater, stormwater and roads OUC service area for potable water Clear Lake

Project History Clear Lake Water Quality Study (1995) Elevated levels of bacterial contamination and nutrient pollution Report identified likely sources of contamination Septic tanks Stormwater runoff

Project History Clear Lake Water Quality Study completed 9/19/ OCU conducted a workshop with the BCC to discuss the retrofit of septic tanks to central sewer system 9/26/ BCC adopted a resolution establishing an MSBU for wastewater connection costs in the Holden Heights Area

Project History Project developed into a collective effort between OCU, Public Works and OUC Eliminates septic tanks and provides central sewer Improves potable water reliability and fire protection Stormwater enhancements Road and sidewalk improvements Enhances redevelopment potential

In 2007, a need was identified to increase the services offered at the existing Holden Heights Community Center A determination was made that the existing 1,765 SF building was too small to accommodate all of the growing needs of the community Project History

Subsequently in 2010, DOT acquired the existing location for its planned I-4 expansion The current location will have to be vacated based on DOT’s upcoming Construction Schedule anticipated to be late 2014 or early 2015 Project History

In 2010, a CIP was approved to acquire the needed property to build a new, larger facility A $4.4M budget was established funded by a combination of OBT CRA, CDBG and County Funds In 2011, property on Lake June in Holden Heights was purchased. Project History

The new, larger facility will accommodate additional much-needed services for adults. County Programming – Housing Programs – Food Programs – Education Opportunities – Job Training – Wellness Programs Space for Community Partners to provide some of these needed programs Project Description
