6 A Device for detection of Inflammatory Pain, Vascular Disorders and Breast Cancer. THERMOSCAN

Introduction Thermoscan is a noninvasive, painless and no harmful imaging technology that allows the physician to visualize the physiological dynamics at an early stage. Thermoscan converts infrared radiation emitted from the skin surface into electrical impulses that are visualized in colour on a monitor. This visual image graphically maps the body temperature and is referred to as a thermogram. The spectrum of colours indicate an increase or decrease in the amount of infrared radiation being emitted from the body surface Thermoscan clinical value is in its high sensitivity to pick up pathological changes due to diseases of muscular, skeletal, vascular systems at just aberrant physiological level itself. 7

8 Potential Application areas Rheumatology Neurology Oncology Diabetes ( Endocrinology) Radiology Orthopedics Sports medicine Physiotherapy Pain Management Wound Healing

Clinical Implications Diabetic foot care Assessing stage of wound healing Diagnosing and Imaging pain ( Distinguishing Inflammatory and Neuropathic pain) Screening of the Breast Cancer Assessing the response of disease to treatments 9

Diabetic foot care Diabetic foot problem is the most common reason for patient admissions to hospital worldwide. Diabetic foot care is the most vital factor for control of blood glucose. 10
