Healthy, active, connected lives. Things that stop us connecting with others What can happen when we’re unhappy with our connections What can be done about the pain of loneliness? Who can act? What could you do?

Things that stop us connecting with others Physical environment – rural transport, urban crime Money for activities or travel Housing that is far from loved ones Health – long term health and temporary health changes Technology - changes to the way others communicate Change – life-stage, activities or friendships and family

When we’re unhappy with our connections … We are lonely We may have been feeling isolated (and are not happy with our solitude) We are at risk of making our physical and mental health poorer
