WEST VIRGINIA DIVISION OF ENERGY EIA Electric Trends EIA expects total U.S. generation of electricity to grow by 1.1% in 2015 and 0.9% in The share of generation fueled by coal falls from 39.0% in 2014 to 37.6% in Natural-gas-fired generation accounted for a 27.3% share of total generation during 2014 and is expected to increase to a 28.1% share in 2016 as a result of declining natural gas prices.
