By Ja’nell Nock & Michael Collins MATH MEN

Multiplication is a math skill that is just like adding. Multiplication is also a kind of method used to find an answer. Its also something that people use to add a greater value. MULTIPLICATION Use multiplication when you are stuck in a situation that you have to multiply in, like a problem like this. There are 20 lunch tables in the cafeteria, and 10 students sit at each table. How many student ARE IN THE CAFETERIA? There are 200 students in the cafeteria.

FIGURE OUT THE ANSWERS, BY USING ALGORITHM, AND/OR AREA MODEL. Double-Digit Multiplication Problems

DIVISION Division is just like multiplication it is just turned around. When you are doing division all you have to do is think of what would equal to the dividend. Think of multiplication when you are doing division

PLACE VALUE Place value is almost like money. Place value is value of money. Use it to count money if you can’t count money yourself. It has tenths, hundredths, thousandths, units, tens, hundreds and, thousandths and so on.

DECIMALS AND FRACTIONS Decimals and fractions are both math skills. Money is just like decimals. You just add the dollar/cent sign. $ Fractions are ways of splitting up something. It is also like dividing something that…. For example lets say that there are 10 people want to get on computers and 15 people want to go outside. The fraction would be 15 over 10.

I hope you learned something about math. THANK YOU
