PROJECT TITLE

In this project, student-scientists investigate the cleansing teeth and causes of dental disease. Students learn about self cleansing issues like the cleansing of teeth and causes of dental diseases, doing research, and surveying their neighbors, parents, and friends to gauge awareness and feelings about cleansing teeth. Students speak to experts to gain a more informed perspective on their research. They use a wiki to develop and share knowledge about the self cleansing issues, and a class blog to share thoughts, debate responses, and reflect on their learning. As a culminating project, students develop a product to create awareness and encourage discussion in their community about self cleansing change. UNIT SUMMARY

PROJECT TIME LINE SIX MONTHS(AUGUST 2011 TO JANUARY 2012), one day per month( 7 period per day,40 minute per period), plus time for individuals and small groups to work on computers.

INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES Begin the unit by posting the Unit Question,is cleansing of teeth important or not? And how many students having interest in to clean the their teeth? Elicit students’ initial responses and have them record their thoughts in their assessment sheet.Teacher assess the students by discussion and distribute publication among students for the awareness of cleansing teeth. Teacher show publication and distribute among students.show presentation to the students.Teacher assess the students by discussion check list. publication presentation Day 1

DAY 2 To help students understand cleansing teeth in a concrete way, involve them in a variety of hands- on experiences working. For survey teacher provide survey sheet to all students having checklist in which students assess those who are interested in cleansing of teeth and those who are not?survey sheet After completion data of survey students filter all the information by making graphs in their survey sheets. The graph shows results that how many are interested in cleansing teeth and how many are not? Teacher assesses the students by problem solving check list.

DAY 3 Students Visit to the dental clinic. Complete the questionnaire provided by the teacher in which three different questions are mentioned according to the topic.questionnaire Students fully observe the dentist how he works in dental clinic? They also see and observe how many kids and people are involved in dental disease? At last they see the results of students. Teacher assesses the students by critical thinking check list.

DAY 4 In this class teacher give guideline to the students how they can collect more data or information about tips of cleansing teeth. For this she provide handouts having useful web sites. All the given websites fulfill the need of this project. By the compalilation of dataTeacher assess given task to the students by research checklist.handouts

DAY 5 Arrange a seminar in school auditorium and invite school principal, administrator, dentist, children, and their parents in your school.Dentist represent the details, benefits and importance of cleansing teeth by multimedia presentation. By the compilation of data Teacher assess the students by multimedia presentation checklist.Include thematic decorations and snacks to create a festive occasion. multimedia presentation

DAY 6 After meeting with the above representatives, revisit the Unit Question, How Cleansing teeth is important for the students? Take out the Know-Wonder-Learn survey sheet created at the beginning of the school year from your teacher and move again for the survey to observe how many students take interest in Cleansing teeth. Make a graph of this survey and compare the results with the previous one. By the compilation of data teacher assess the students by Analysis check list. survey sheet On the last day of your project, remind students that this year they focused on the Essential Question, How does cleansing teeth play a significant role in your life. Keep your observation for rest of the session? In case, If you transfer to the other fazaia school keep the same research and see the difference.
