Structures The structure of a piece of writing is determined by its function and purpose, defined by the types of writing/text types.

Individual Work Look at the poem ‘Sinking Sunset’ and decide which of the following text type it falls into: -Narrative -Recount -Information Report -Explanation Text

Sinking Sunset  Who do you think ‘I’ in lines 1, 8 & 17 refers to?  What do you think the poem is talking about? 

Sinking Sunset  What do you think happen to the character in the poem in the end?  What makes you say so?

Sinking Sunset  Let’s trace/sequence the events in the poem that landed the character into that predicament.
