Facts about the blue whale!

The blue whale is a marine mammal belonging to the baleen whales. At 30 meters in length and 170 tones or more in weight. it is the largest existing animal and the heaviest that ever existed in the world.

Sizes and Weight They can weigh up to 190,000 kg on average (Adult) And can be 2,400 cm in length Their tongues alone can weigh up as much as an elephant, while their hearts, are as big as a car. Food Chain A single adult blue whale can consume 3,6000kg of krill a day. They eat krill and also microscopic plants. Breeding Females breed only once every three years and only have one young. They remain pregnant for about one year before giving birth. When born, the blue whale calf is about 7 m long and weighs 2,700 kg. Others Their scientific name is Balaenoptera musculus
