Unit 6 Lesson 1 Grade Imagine It Reading Series

DAY ONE

Daily News In 1620, the Mayflower sailed from England to America with more than 100 Pilgrims onboard. The Pilgrims planned to settle in Virginia, but the ship got lost during a storm. They landed at Plymouth Rock, and the Pilgrims decided to build their settlement there. While they built their homes, the settlers lived on the Mayflower.

DAY TWO

Daily News Did you know that the Pilgrims were not the first people to settle in America? Native Americans lived in small groups across the country. Some Native Americans lived in houses called wigwams, and some lived in teepees. Other Native Americans used snow and ice to make their homes.
