Breaona Maas Another quality leaders need is trust. I am a very trustworthy person, even if I’m angry at someone, unlike most people, I continue to hold their secrets. This is an important leadership quality because you want to be able to trust that your representatives will be there to listen to you and do their job no matter what. I am a very strong believer that no matter how good of a leader and how strong your leadership qualities may be, there is always room for improvement. To help me improve, I have attended all of the leadership trips and activities that have been available to me. For example, I went to a camp we called District 3 Leadership Camp two years in a row where I was taught how to step out of your comfort box and explore new things. In addition I learned new ways to recruit members, I would very much like to use these skills I have learned and have yet to learn to help expand and get more members active in the Allen FFA Chapter. Hello, my name is Breaona Maas and I am 16 years going into the 11 th grade. I have just moved to Allen High School a month ago from Toledo High School in Washington State where last year I was the chapter sentinel and this year I was our chapter’s vice president. A leader has many necessary leadership qualities to be looked at by others as a good leader. One example of these qualities is dependability. As a chapter, you would not want a leader who you feel you can depend on. I, for one, am a very dependable person. For example, last year I was elected as sentinel in the beginning of January while the team was trying to set up for a dance they had to put on. I came into the team and instantly was told to talk to someone because nobody else on the team would, they depended on me to talk to the woman and I did. That is just one example though.

Lauren Selph I will be a senior this upcoming school year. This past year was my first year in FFA but I instantly fell in love with the energy, teamwork, and oh goodness, EVERYTHING. I have been in Principles of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources and Small Animal Management. I participated in the FFA Creed Speaking competition and served on the Marketing Plan team. Alongside school work, I also raised a goat. You may know me as the weird girl who wears the surgical mask at the barn. Prior Leadership Experience: – President of FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America) – PALs (Peer Assistant Leadership) 3 Years – Acteens Leadership Team Community Service: Angel T-Ball: (Playing T-Ball with special needs kids) 4 Years Special Friends: (Hanging out with special needs kids) 4 Years PALs: Helping with new students, around the school, and mentoring younger students in the district Personal Qualities: Responsibility Creative Dependability Organization Intelligence Energy Person of Integrity Dedication Fair Assertiveness Focus My Biggest Strengths One of my greatest strengths is hospitality. I have a way of bringing people into the group and helping them to feel comfortable and welcome. Another of my strengths is working hard. As cliché as it is to say “Oh yes, I’m very hard working” I have no problem doing more than my fair share of work.
