Slide 4 STO-CMRE/T2 GEOSS AIP-7 12 November 2014 Engagement with the GEOSS community – Best practice on building a standard based, open source and open data processing chain, addressing Climate Change and Weather societal benefits – A proof of concept for the porting of a complex and widely used forecasting model to a Cloud Computing environment, i.e. the Regional Observation Modeling System which can now be invoked via OGC WPS for compute-intensive tasks – The modeling outputs are derived by applying this service against existing GEO contributions, e.g. the MFS model available through MyOcean system – Model outputs will deliver key parameters such as currents, salinity and temperature, as a relevant set of resources for many different communities involved in the marine/maritime field (e.g. fisheries management, environmental protection) CMRE Response to AIP-7 CFP
