Lone “Undresser” Infection Prevention & Control Team

Principles The level of contamination on the “undresser” will be much lower than that on staff attending to the patient The principal area for potential contamination will be the outer gloves

Step 1 After clearing contaminated staff to the clean zone, the “undresser” dips gloved hands in Actichlor plus solution (hypochlorite) Undo gown ties

Step 2 Pull down the gown and roll off the arms

Step 3 Outer gloves may come off with gown, or will need to be removed after gown has been disposed of

Step 4 Dispose of the gown and pull the full face visor away from the face, and dispose of

Step 5 Dip gloved hands in Actichlor plus solution (hypochlorite) Fully undo the zip to the all-in-one oversuit

Step 6 Roll all-in-one oversuit down, avoiding the outside of the suit touching the skin or the scrubs

Step 7 Shuffle to the chair on the clean/dirty demarcation line Keep hands away from scrubs

Step 8 Remove trouser leg of all-in-one oversuit, overboot and shoe

Step 9 Move leg into the clean zone with assistance if necessary, or place foot on the inside of the discarded suit

Step 10 Remove the second trouser leg, overboot and shoe Move leg into clean zone Discard all-in-one oversuit, overboots and shoes Keep hands away from body

Step 11 Ensure all PPE safely disposed of Discard gloves

Step 12 Discard gloves into bin

Step 13 Straps to face mask and goggles can be cut by a person in the clean area and disposed of into bin Individual can now leave clean area for shower
