What type of materials make a basketball bounce the highest? TITLE: What type of materials make a basketball bounce the highest? By: Joseph & Elie CLASS 811

Problem: We wanted to find out if a pigskin, leather or rubber basketball would bounce the highest.

Hypothesis: We think the rubber basketball will bounce higher than the pigskin and leather basketball.

Procedure: In our experiment we bounced each ball next to a yard stick. We measured the height of each basketballs’ bounce. This told us which bounced the highest.

Bar graph

Results We learned that a rubber basketball bounces higher than a pigskin and leather basketball. We also learned that it would be the best ball to use in a game if you want a high bounce.

Conclusions Our hypothesis was correct. The rubber basketball bounced higher than the pigskin and leather basketball.
