The Chemical Management System (CMS) self-assessment project has started. Several labs areas are being checked and a survey was sent out to PI’s. EETD Safety Alerts were issued for: –Nitric Acid waste treatment procedures –Use of dust mask respirators A number of old gas cylinders were removed from the Building 70 cage. An old chemical clean-out was completed in

Short Term Safety Outlook- 6/14 Continue to assist with start-up of the new FLEXLAB buildings. Complete the Chemical Management System (CMS) self- assessment project. Complete participation in the inter-divisional “off-site safety” self-assessment project. Complete the flame retardant lab coat corrective action. Begin the set-up of the Work Planning and Control (WPC) “projects” and “activities” framework for EETD. Address the European electrical appliance approval issue in the B31 test chamber. Develop FLEXLAB user safety orientation training. Develop area safety lead orientation training. Conduct a quarterly SAA inspection of EETD lab areas.
