STRESS Definition:Stress is any demand made on the body. (Engineering Term)

Major Stressors: Pollution Weather Work Accident World Events Water Noise Family Radiation Sunlight Food

Stages of Stress: 1.The Alarm Stage: When threat is perceived through the body senses 2.Resistance Stage:After the immediate threat disappears, the body relaxes and returns to normal

Cont’d… 3.Exhaustion Stage: If the actual or perceived threat continues over a prolong time. This can end in disease

MANAGEMENT Relaxation: Massage, self hypnosis, Sabbath, day off, leave, retreat, time away, seven to eight hours sleep Nourish your body: Organic food, vitamins and essential nutrients

Cont’d… Regain control of your life: reduce work stress, learn to say no, setting boundaries, be an optimist, etc… Exercise: stretching, walking, jogging at least 30minutes 3 times a week
