Animal Farm NAPOLEON PATRICIA FORTUNATO AND SIMRIN DHILLON

Major Details of Napoleon  The pig who emerges as the leader of Animal Farm after the Rebellion.  Based on Joseph Stalin  Uses military force  Uses his 9 dogs to intimidate the other animals and consolidate his power.  In his supreme craftiness, he proves more treacherous than his counterpart, Snowball  Will do anything to keep his reign of power

Similarities/Differences to Others Similarities ~All believe in Animalism ~All want to be free from man ~Look up to Old Major ~Believe in rebellion and being free from the tortures of man kind ~Both want the windmill to shorten working hours Differences ~Napoleon wants to be the ruler of the farm ~Napoleon believes all animals are equal but some more than others ~Napoleon believes pigs are better than everyone else ~Napoleon believes in slaughter, and punishment against any animal found guilty ~Doesn’t contribute to the rebellion

Connection with History NapoleonJoseph Stalin He acts as one of the leaders on Animal Farm along side Snowball. He acted as a leader with Trotsky after the Russian Revolution. He isn't as clever as Snowball. He was not quite well-educated compared to Trotsky. When he felt threatened by snowball he chased him off the farm. He ordered someone to kill Trotsky. He makes a 3-year plan for building the windmill. He made a 5-year plan for the industrial development. He makes Boxer work until death. He made the loyal proletariat work until they get too tired and useless.

NapoleonJoseph Stalin He had 9 dogs who protected him and acted as his body guards He had a secret police force, the NKVD. He uses his dogs to get rid of the opposition by force. He used his secret police force to ensure his own power. He kills every animal who confesses that they were in league with Snowball. Great Purge: He sent people to prison camps and killed everybody who disagrees with him. He governs the farm with complete power. He governed the country with the complete monarchy

At least 4 Visuals that Relate

Significant Contribution Napoleon Makes  Napoleon didn’t contribute in the rebellion very much  He became the leader and ruled everyone by fear  He scared them into doing any work needed to be done  Trades with the humans, eventually becoming one himself  All he does is lay around the farm house and “think” about new ideas to “improve” the farm when really their just thinking of how to improve the pig’s lives

Ultimate Fate of Napoleon  He's just like a human  He smokes a pipe  Reads human magazines  Listens to radio  Wears human clothes  Walks on two legs carrying a whip  Changed the line “Four legs good, Two legs bad” to “Four legs good, Two legs better”

One Piece of Criticism from the Internet  “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”  “Four legs good, two legs better! All Animals Are Equal. But Some Animals Are More Equal Than Others.”  "Gentlemen, I will give you the same toast as before, but in a different form. Fill your glasses to the brim. Gentlemen, here is my toast: To the prosperity of The Manor Farm! “
