I-Learn training brand and “ own your future ” self development sub-theme Objectives: To create a greater awareness of all learning opportunities (with distinct focus on Internet-based, Instructor-Led and Individualized (i.e.: tool kits, self study). To increase the perceived value of courses to both managers and ICs to deter no-shows. To encourage a Self Development mindset among all NAIT staff members and to encourage the staff to “ own their future ” via advice, coaching and mentoring. Target Audience: Primary: All NAIT individual contributors; Secondary: NAIT People Managers Strategy: With the large volume of information needed to be conveyed, the awareness campaign must first be focused on one message, the Internet- based learning opportunities, which are relevant to all staff members and will cultivate a grass-roots style energy. This promotion will act as a springboard to promoting the other objectives of the campaign. Methodology: Begin by branding the theme “ gain knowledge (I-learn) and own your future ”. Strike up a good-natured competitiveness among colleagues toward learning new technologies, applications, etc. to gain a competitive edge in the IT intellectual market. Track and report (to ICs) what courses and lessons are the most popular. Consolidate and publish commentaries and recommendations from peers about the courses they have taken. Encourage an Element K registration rally within the first 2 weeks of the campaign. Media Channels: Interest-generating and brand building “ simple ” desk drop Rich-text messages (weekly for the first 4 weeks, then monthly as needed based on sign-up activity) Intranet Home Page Banner enforcing the Brand LMPSG home page facelift with registration link and dynamic “ dashboard ” banner (updated weekly to tie-into messages) Tracking Success: Dollars Increase Element K Utilization by XX% X hours per month at XXXX/$40m Decrease no-shows to less than X% of class head count (no-shows not inclusive of cancellations, so this should be 0. At a Xx% no-show rate, NAIT looses about $XXXM annually.) Knowledge Increase NAIT L&PSG sponsored training hours per person by XX% to 11 hours of training per employee for the remainder of the year. VOE Related Increase awareness of NIAT L&PSG training offerings related to Career Growth (CDF, technology, leadership, professional development, project management) NAIT L&PSG home page hits (need baseline) Increase in registration for Instructor-led courses as indicated by 95% run rate of scheduled classes. I-Learn…own your future! (Best viewed in HTML format) TO: All NAIT Employees FROM: NAIT Learning & Performance Solutions Group RE: I-Learn…own your future! I-Learn is about you learning, your future as a knowledge worker, your personal intellectual property and your responsibility for what you learn. Are you a knowledge worker? Generally, knowledge workers would agree with these statements: I don’t like to be told what to do. I’m better led by example than explicit management. I work best when working with other people in social networks. No one will ever reduce what I do to a flow chart. I like to work on things I help create. I'm always building for the future while getting today's work out the door. If I don't feel good about doing something, I probably won't do it well.
