April 29 and 30, 2004 Schneider Electric Solutions For Six Euro 2004 Soccer Stadiums

April 29 and 30, 2004 Schneider Electric: proven expertise for sports facilities Schneider Electric ensures safety and uninterrupted service under any conditions Electrical equipment for sports facilities: Systems to distribute, control and manage electrical power required for events and spectator comfort: lighting, HDTV and radio signal transmission, sound systems, safety, air-conditioning, smoke extraction… Major success stories Olympic Games in Grenoble (1968), Albertville (1992), Lillehammer and Atlanta (1996), Stade de France - Soccer 1998 World Cup venue Systems for six Euro 2004 stadiums in Portugal

April 29 and 30, 2004 Schneider Electric is equipping six Euro 2004 soccer stadiums 10 new stadiums have been built to host the Euro 2004 Soccer Cup from June 12-July 4, 2004 For six of them, Schneider Electric has supplied MV/LV electrical distribution and centralized facilities management equipment to secure the reliability of the power network Estádio de Luz (Benfica-Lisbon)—one of the six stadiums equipped by Schneider Electric and the venue for the final on July 4—has been called the “gem of Euro 2004”

April 29 and 30, 2004 Estádio de Luz: Main Features Designed by Australian architect Damon Lavelle, who designed the Sydney Olympic Stadium and Wembley Stadium in England 65,400 seats - Surface area 65,000 sq. m. - 2 giant 48 sq. m. screens Installed power: 9 MVA, equivalent to the power consumption of a city of 25,000 inhabitants 115 km of electrical wiring Schneider Electric coordinated the activities of the consortium headed by Philsystec: Philips Lighting was the lighting contractor Schneider Electric installed electrical systems in partnership with Marobal (engineering and design), Monofásica and Gerco (contractors)

April 29 and 30, 2004 The Estádio de Luz electrical network A Schneider Electric “Power and Control” solution EDP delivers 12 kV power supply via two independent loops Two MV/LV transformer substations with loop interconnection supply power to the distribution network, which comprises two identical grids BMS systems provide power for all stadium utilities: lighting, HDTV and radio control rooms, sound systems, safety, air-conditioning, ventilation, smoke evacuation, etc. Centralized facilities management controls and monitors all of the installed equipment

April 29 and 30, 2004 Estádio de Luz Products and systems supplied by Schneider Electric 19 Merlin Gerin MV SM6 cubicles equipped with Sepam protection and control relays 7 Trihal France Transfo dry-type transformers (630 to 1600 kVA) 4 Merlin Gerin Prisma P BMS equipped with Masterpact and Compact NS circuit breakers and Powerlogic circuit monitors 500 distribution switchboards equipped with Multi 9 modular devices 200 meters of Canalis prefabricated busbar trunking to power field lighting system Centralized facilities management system with 6,000 monitoring points comprising 4 monitoring substations (Monitor Pro) and 30 Premium PLCs and Momentum I/O on an Ethernet TCP/IP network

April 29 and 30, 2004 Estádio de Luz Customer benefits An end-to-end MV/LV electrical power distribution and utilities management solution with complete equipment compatibility, backed by high reliability, safety and availability Centralized facilities management guarantees easy control and supervision, plus simplified maintenance Remote control and supervision via an Ethernet TCP/IP network
