Be safe! With stage fighting… Daniel, Sabrina, Madison.

Stage Fighting Stage fighting is a specialized technique designed to create the illusion of combat. This is not made to harm the performers.

Safety! They have safety rules because they are very important If you aren’t careful somebody could be seriously injured.

Falls of stage fighting. Like any fall in stage fighting it requires control and flexibility.

‘’Fight like you mean it’’ ‘’Fight is a metaphor for what actors do, you enter a emotional conflict with other characters, In some cases words wont work.’’

History of fighting. The history of staged fight and mock combat can be traced to antiquity, or indeed to the origins of the human species and primate display behavior. Fights staged for entertainment may also be in earnest for the combatants, as was the case with the Roman gladiators, and any public duel, such as the judicial duel of the European Middle Ages.

Moves! The punch! The kick! The throw! Everything in stage fighting is about controlling your body.

Stage Fighting Rules One or two weapons Rapier and dagger or Single sword Unarmed One other weapon from the list of eight Rapier and dagger Single sword (this may be anything from sabre, to single rapier) Broadsword (specifically a hand and a half broadsword) Sword and shield (specifically a one handed broadsword and shield) Quarterstaff Unarmed Smallsword Knife
