Lewis and Clark expedition Quest- explore the territory and find a water route across the country. The expedition started on May 14,1804 in St. Louis Was headed by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark and assisted by Sacagawea. It ended on September 23,1806 results- gained the loyalty and friendship of tribes and mapped the new territory

Annexation of the Oregon Country 1818-Anglo-American Convention : -Boundary along 49 th parallel between the USA and British North America -This countries can both settle in the Oregon country The Oregon Treaty: -This Treaty established the 49th parallel as the boundary between the USA and British North America to the Pacific Ocean.

Mexican-American War The war began on April 25, 1846 in the wake of the 1845 U.S. annexation of Texas, which Mexico considered part of its territory in spite of the 1836 Texas Revolution.

Mexican-American War The war ended on February 2, 1848 The United States gave Texas, California, Nevada, Utah, parts of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Wyoming.

Manifest destiny is a term that was used in the 19th century to designate the belief that the United States was destined to expand across the North American continent, from the Atlantic seaboard to the Pacific Ocean First appeared in 1839 and was used in 1845.

The California Gold Rush Is a period in American history marked by mass hysteria concerning a gold discovery in Northern California started at near Sutter's Mill on the 24th of January, 1848

Last states On March 30, 1867 The US Senate purchased Alaska from the Russian Empire. In 1898 the United States annexed Hawaii and gave it status “territory”
