Read To Me By Jane Yolen

Read to me riddles and read to me rhymes, What would a good image be to represent riddles and rhymes?

Read to me stories of magical times.

Read to me tales about castles and kings.

Read to me stories of fabulous things.

Read to me pirates and read to me knights,

Read to me dragons and dragon-book fights.

Read to me spaceships and cowboys and then,

When you are finished – please read them again.

I chose this poem because… Jane Yolen is one of my favorite authors. She wrote Owl Moon, along with many other great books. I love to read out loud, and that’s what this poem is about. This poem had lots of words that make pictures in my mind. I wanted to share those pictures with you.

This poem was found in The Three Bears Rhyme Book by Jane Yolen This poem was found in The Three Bears Rhyme Book by Jane Yolen. Published in 1997.
