From Matthew & Ella

The war took place on Sunday 25 th June 1950 north Korea attacked, crossing the Pusan Perimeter, South Korea. The war started from rising tension between South & North Korea. This led to North Korea heading to attack. This war wasn’t long but the tension has never died down. This war ended on July ,164 Survived 1,216 injured 339 died Beginning

Major Battle Australia participated in two major battles in 1951.On April 22 nd the Chinese attacked Kapyong Valley, forcing South Korea & New Zealand troops to retreat. The Australians used 77squadrons of the RAAF and 3 rd battalion (3RAR) for the first Battle.

South Korea The Australian soldiers fought for South Korea in the Korean war against North Korea. Australia got involved by the United Nation Security Council asking all its member to help rebel to North Korea’s attack. 21 nations responded including Australia.

Involvement & Winner Our involvement in the war wasn’t massive but it made a difference. We also participated in a halt attack, after fierce fighting which our positions were over run. A while later we recaptured our positions and stalled Chinese advance. In this halt battle 32 men killed, 53 wounded for there contribution to action. There was no conclusive winner in the war, but since the war south Korea and north Korea dislike each other and tension builds.
