Argument Paper – Am I on the Path Toward Achieving my Career Goals? Using self-reflective data gathered from RIASEC, Multiple Intelligence Survey, evidence from school documents and/or documented related experiences, and 2 reputable articles of research on my career choice; support your answer to the title question, “Am I on the path toward achieving my career goals?”

Internet Research Research 2 articles that focus on How you can attain your career goal. Bookmark the site on your 1:1 computer or print out the articles. Make sure you know the source because you will need to make a bibliography citation in MLA style when you turn in the paper.

You will need to fill out the Tree Map The tree map starts with your career goal. The large boxes are for the evidences that support your career goal. The little boxes are a place where you can jot down the source.

Giving Your Paper Credibility  According to…  Expert ___ says…  For example, in the article…  For instance, in the article…  In ___’s research the evidence shows…  ___ defines this as, “ ___”  As quoted in…  For the ___ survey, my raw score was ___ this demonstrates…

Introduction Paragraph: (figure out a way to logically connect the ideas into a paragraph) 1.Introduce your career goal. Explain why this career is interesting to you and a basic description of this career. 2.Cite source and explain briefly what RIASEC is and how it assesses your interests. 3.RIASEC is a tool that helps you analyze your interests of today. What does the worksheet say are your 3 areas of RIASEC interest? 4.Cite source and explain briefly what the Multiple Intelligence Survey is and how it assesses your learning style strengths. 5.The Multiple Intelligence Survey is a tool to help you analyze different types of ways in which you learn best. What does the Multiple Intelligence Survey say are your 3 most effective learning styles? 6.State whether or not the categories of both surveys match your career goals and what is your answer to the question, “Am I on the Path Toward Achieving my Career Goals?”

Support Paragraphs: Discussing Evidence (create a new paragraph when there is a new idea): 1.Cite sources and explain the responsibilities, skills, knowledge, and educational background for your career choice based on your research. 2.Analyze your RIASEC categories, select the strongest pieces of evidence that support your answer to the question “Am I on the right path to achieving my career goal?” - Use specific details, such as raw scores in each category, or quotes from the descriptors. 3.Analyze your Multiple Intelligence Survey categories, select the strongest pieces of evidence that support your answer to the question “Am I on the right path to achieving my career goal?” Use specific details, such as raw scores in each category, or quotes from the descriptors. 4.Cite sources - What categories could you strengthen to help you achieve your career goals? And explain how strengthening these categories would help you be more successful at your career. 5.How does the information that you gathered from your career research, RIASEC, and Multiple Intelligence Survey or other personal data (i.e. test scores, report card grades, awards, or other documented experiences related to your career choice) support your answer to the question, “Am I on the Path Toward Achieving my Career Goals?”

Conclusion: Summarize your statements mentioning key points and how it supports your answer to the question, “Am I on the right path to achieving my career goals?”
