Signing the Mayflower Compact by 41 Men November 11, 1620 On board the Mayflower at Provincetown Harbor near Cape Cod, Massachusetts

The Mayflower Compact The original Mayflower Compact has never been found. The "Mayflower Compact" was written by Mayflower passenger William Bradford into his manuscript History of Plymouth Plantation about 1630.

"In the name of God, Amen. We, whose names are underwritten, the Loyal Subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord, King James, by the Grace of God, of England, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, e&. Having undertaken for the Glory of God, and Advancement of the Christian Faith, and the Honour of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia; do by these presents, solemnly and mutually in the Presence of God and one of another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil Body Politick, for our better Ordering and Preservation, and Furtherance of the Ends aforesaid; And by Virtue hereof to enact, constitute, and frame, such just and equal Laws, Ordinances, Acts, Constitutions and Offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the General good of the Colony; unto which we promise all due submission and obedience. In Witness whereof we have hereunto subscribed our names at Cape Cod the eleventh of November, in the Reign of our Sovereign Lord, King James of England, France and Ireland, the eighteenth, and of Scotland the fifty-fourth. Anno Domini, 1620."

The Mayflower Compact Who signed it and why? One of the first lists of the Mayflower Compact’s signers was provided by William Bradford’s nephew, Nathaniel Morton. There were 41 men signing the Mayflower Compact. They believed that covenants were to be honored between God and man and between each other. They had honored covenants as part of their righteous integrity.

The Mayflower Compact Who signed it and why? America was founded by men who honored God. The founding principles were set by the words of the Bible. Men lived their lives with honesty, reliability, and fairness toward establishing this country “for the sake of its survival.”

The Ten commandments Galatians 3:24-25 24Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

II Timothy 3:15-17 15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.  16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

The Mayflower Compact The Glory of God Romans 15:5-7 5Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: 6That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 7Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.

The Mayflower Compact Advancement of the Christian Faith Titus 1:2-3 2In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; 3But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;
