Health Powerpoint Sexting & Cyberbullying Grace Waldon

Cyberbullying has subsequently been defined as "when the Internet, cell phones or other devices are used to send or post text or images intended to hurt or embarrass another person".

Sexting refers to an act of sending sexually explicit materials through mobile phones. The word is derived from the combination of two terms sex and texting.

Jail Time? There are no laws concerning cyberbullying yet. You will be charged with harassment or menacing. They are misdemeanors with no jail time if you have a clean record and 20 to Life if the person dies as a result. While sexting—sending sexually-explicit content through a cell phone text message—is not illegal between consenting adults, it quickly turns into a child pornography felony charge when it involves a minor as the sender, receiver, photographer or subject. When sexually-explicit photos of a minor are discovered on a cell phone or social networking site—which is happening all too often, officials say—punishment is taken on a case-by-case basis, depending on the age of the children and the number of photographs involved. However, the juvenile office can charge minors with the ame charges as adults: Possession of child pornography, furnishing child pornography, manufacturing of child pornography, harassment—all serious charges that can follow someone for a lifetime. “Just because you’re 14, 15 or 16 years old and in high school doesn’t mean you can’t be in trouble for child pornography or harassment,” Goodall said. “You could be 17 and a junior in high school and have a younger girlfriend and if it comes out, it’s a serious offense.”

Views I believe that both of these topics are sensitive and are very situational. There are many factors involved and many variables that make it okay or not okay. I know a boy who was a victim of cyber bullying and the whole thing was very sad. Girls are perhaps worse than boys when it comes to cyberbullying.
