Statement A mentioned in the earlier side as ‘Final Reports Sent’ means cases in which charge sheet was not filled but investigation completed. In colloquial police vocabulary Statement A is also known as ‘Case True but not Detected’. E.g. a murder case in which the body is recovered but no clue is available after investigation. Statement B/C means cases declared false or mistake of fact or law. E.g. in the recent case of the two girls in Palghar who were arrested for their remarks on Facebook, the police intend to file Statement C and close the case. 5

Upgrade the archaic police acts to suit the needs of today. Immediately take steps to fill up gaps in the sanctioned and available strengths of the police force. 11
