DRAW NEAR TO GOD: GOD’S PURSUIT OF YOU

I. GOD DESIRES TO DRAW CLOSE TO US.

Genesis 3:9-“ But the Lord God called to the man, "Where are you?”

II. LOVE HIM FOR WHO HE IS AND NOT JUST FOR WHAT HE CAN GIVE US.

John Bevere gives us an important question to get us started, “Where was Moses bringing the children of Israel to when they left Egypt?”

Exodus 7:16-“Let My people go so that they may worship Me in the desert.”

Exodus 19:4, “I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.”

If Moses brought them to the Promised Land before introducing them to the Promiser of the Promised Land,

they would end up loving the promises more than the Promiser, God Himself.

Exodus 3:3-“I will now turn aside and see.”

Mark 6:48-“Now about the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea, and intended to pass them by.”

Then they cried out to Him and he told them, ‘Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid’”

James 4:8 “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”

Hebrews 10: “Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a

new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with

a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.”
