In the 12 months to the end of September 2014, a total of 7,152 domestic abuse incidents and crimes were reported in East Sussex

Domestic abuse happens in all communities, regardless of deprivation, education, age, sexuality, ethnicity or ability Whilst men can and do experience domestic abuse, the majority of domestic abuse is experienced by women Between October 2013 to September 2014, a total of 527 cases were discussed at Multi- Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARACs) 514 (98%) cases were female 13 (2%) cases were male MARAC – Representatives from different agencies working together to reduce the risks for domestic abuse victims at high risk of serious harm

Of the cases discussed at East Sussex MARACs in the 12 months to September 2014 there were: 35 (6.6%) clients with a registered disability 65 (12.3%) clients from black and minority ethnic communities 15 (2.8%) Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans (LGBT) clients
