Housing Environment, Health and Youth. Housing Environment is a determinant of because of all the affects that a house can have on you health. Low income parents are more likely to have a dirty house which disease is more likely to spread than a high income parent where the house is tidy. Youth are most likely to spend most of there time at home so housing environment is important to a youth’s health. With a dirty house you are more likely to be exposed to toxics, irritants and allergens which can lead to disease.

Physical Affects of the Housing Environment. The Physical affects that Housing Environment can have on your health are: ∞ asthma, respiratory conditions (indoor pollutants) ∞ drinking water ∞ meningococcal infection (damp, cold or mouldy house) ∞ the number of bedrooms ∞ the safety of the house itself

Newspaper Articles. Short extracts: ∞ living with out the basics. living with out the basics. ∞ fifteen people. fifteen people. ∞ $155-a-week $155-a-week Next

Living without the basics Living without the basics such as a metal roof, standing among broken glass behind a barricade of giant tyres.. No electricity, water from a distant tap, no furniture and no fireplace. These is just a common lifestyle for any living in the outback of Australia. Many of these people will perish from respiratory disease by the average age for living of 40. Back

Fifteen People Fifteen people live in a three-bedroom house. No furniture, no fridge, no hot water and people drink from the same cup. Back

$155-A-WEEK A $155-a-week tin shake is up for rent in the outer suburbs of Melbourne with an ‘external’ bathroom and toilet. One- bedroom bungalow. Back $155-a-week one bedroom house. In 2008.
