Animal Cell vs. Plant Cell Lab (Onion, Cheek Cells, and Elodea Lab)

Unstained onion skin 1. Prepare a wet mount (only 1 drop of water) of onion skin (just water/unstained) 2. View under very low light, medium power. 3. Draw 2 representative cells and label the following parts: Cell Wall Cell Membrane Cytoplasm

Stained Onion Cell 1. Using Iodine, stain the onion skin 2. View under very low light, medium power. 3. Draw 2 representative cells and label the following parts: Cell Wall Cell Membrane Cytoplasm Nucleus

Cheek Cells 1. Prepare a stained mount of cheek cells using bromothymol blue (1 – 2 drops) 2. View under medium to low light, high power. 3. Draw 2 representative cells and Label the following parts: Cell Membrane Cytoplasm Nucleus

Elodea 1. Prepare a wet mount (only 1 drop of water) of elodea. 2. View under medium to high light high power. 3. Draw 2 representative cells and label the following parts: Cell Wall Cell Membrane Cytoplasm Chloroplast
