The aim is that 80% of the population of the nine English regions can be reached within the set response times for each of the operational capabilities. The planning assumptions and expectations were also based on three simultaneous major incidents. - BrianWard14

Critical to the successful outcome of complex and major incidents is consistency, both in terms of the procedures and equipment utilised, and in the training given to those personnel who form part of the response. Requirement - a systematic, independent and documented system for ensuring that Fire and Rescue Services (FRSs) that host ND assets meet current Government and CFOA expectations. - BrianWard19

Changes are generated and managed by the gathering of intelligence information from operational incidents, exercises, technical issues, health and safety events and other processes linked to asset refresh and defects. This is undertaken via the Assurance Toolkit. The information is disseminated to the NR Capabilities to provide solutions and actions are assigned. Action progress is updated at each National Resilience Board meeting. Any solutions required and additional funding will be supported by a business case to include an impact assessment.
