Presentation transcript:

Irish immigrants carried versions of the tradition to North America in the nineteenth century. Other western countries embraced the holiday in the late twentieth century. Halloween is celebrated in several countries of the Western World, most commonly in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Japan, etc.

If you want to win some Halloween sweets you must have a scary costume to impress you friends ! You can be a ghost, a witch, an owl, a vulture, a pumpkin-man, a black cat, a spider, goblin, zombie, mummy, skeleton or a demon. Also you can be your favorite hero, like Spiderman, Superman, Cat- woman, etc., or you can be a Fairytale prince or princess, like Snow – White, Cinderella, Ariel, etc.

Trick-or-treating is one of the main traditions of Halloween. The children go door by door and ask for treats such as candy or sweets whit the question: ”Trick or Treat?” or they just say: ”Happy Halloween!!!” If the homeowner refuse to give you some sweets you can play a trick on that man.

Make sure your costumes don`t drag on the ground. Shoes should fit (even if they don`t go with your costume). Avoid wearing masks while walking house to house. Carry only flexible knives, swords or other props. (If no sidewalk) walk on the left side of the road facing traffic. Wear costumes with reflective markings or tape. Approach only house s that are lit. Stay away from animals you don`t know. Carry a flashlight. Walk, don`t run. Stay on sidewalks. Obey traffic signals. Stay in familiar neighborhoods. Don’t cut across yards or driveways. Wear a watch you can read in the dark.

When it's the time for Halloween celebrations, the first thing that strikes our mind is undoubtedly the yummy horrific food that only our tongues would love.
