Selecting a Format Basic formats 1. Round Robin 2. Elimination 3. Combination The main difference between the two formats is the number of guaranteed games that teams will play. Therefore, it is important to decide on the nature of the tournament and whether you want to emphasize participation or competition.

Round Robin Ideally, all teams play each other at least once.
