AIM/NIMAS/NIMAC Coordinators Quarterly Teleconference Thursday, January 23, 2014 (Noon EDT, 11 CDT, 10 MDT, 9 PDT) Introductions: Please enter your name, state and the phone number from which you are calling in the chat box on the lower right of the Adobe Connect Screen. Audio Information Conference line: (877) Passcode: The telephone must be used for the interactive audio portion of the teleconference and “listen only” is available for the computer. All phones will be open so everyone can hear not only when you speak but also any sounds in your environment. PLEASE MUTE YOUR COMPUTER. You have the responsibility to mute and unmute your phone independently by one of two methods: 1) Using the mute button on your phone; or 2) Pressing *6 on your phone which both mutes and unmutes you in the system. Purposes of the Quarterly Teleconferences To connect state leaders with similar AIM-related responsibilities and interests To provide a forum for leaders to share challenges and lessons learned and successes on topics of mutual interest To facilitate cross-state collaborations that can lead to improved outcomes for all To share announcements of interest

Roles and Responsibilities NIMAC Coordinator – Regulatory requirement –The NIMAC State Coordinator is responsible for designating Authorized Users for the state –The coordinator must have the authority to coordinate with the NIMAC on behalf of the entire state. –The NIMAC leaves the decision of naming the coordinator up to the individual state..

Roles and Responsibilities AIM/NIMAS Coordinator – Best practice –IDEA charges states with the responsibility to ensure that all public agencies take all reasonable steps to provide instructional materials in accessible formats to children with disabilities who need those instructional materials at the same time as other children receive instructional materials (IDEA Regs, Section (b)4) –Meeting this responsibility requires leadership and coordination.
