© 2006 Hybrid College International âHybrid also provides a wide range of engineering and project management support to professional audio/video system contractors. A note about Hybrid College International. â Hybrid College International was established in 1991 as North America’s first licensed and bonded college to offer high-level training for the custom audio/video system design and installation industry. About Hybrid A/V Training Engineering & Management Support SA-S Certification âHybrid has been designated as the official world-wide certifier for Sound Alignment Systems.

© 2006 Hybrid College International âSA-S has been designed to help system contractors, professional sound engineers and residential custom installers achieve a more precise and effective installation. What is “Sound Alignment Systems”? â Sound Alignment Systems is a unique and comprehensive system of specialized laser tools, accessories and procedures. SA-S Tools & Accessories P-770 Rotary Base 2-way Splitter Lens Line Lens Rotary Base Plate LG-120

© 2006 Hybrid College International âIt is a laser alignment device that utilizes a three-dimensionally aligned laser and horizontal vial for reference alignment. âIt has a fully machined body and accepts the full range of SA-S accessories. P-770 âThe P-770 is the core component of SA- S tools.

© 2006 Hybrid College International Rotary Base âThe Rotary Base allows layout orientation of loudspeakers via angular alignment to each component and room orientation. âBy using the Rotary Base one can also orient layouts from a level plane of reference, quickly and effectively giving a precise means of complete system setup.

© 2006 Hybrid College International âIt also rotates 360° about the Lens Adapter Base and works in conjunction with the Protractor for angular referencing. âOperation of the 2-way Splitter Lens requires a lens base adapter. âThe 2-way Beam Splitter Lens projects a 90-degree dot and straight beam dot simultaneously from the P-770 unit. 2-way Splitter Lens

© 2006 Hybrid College International Line Lens âThe Line Lens generates a visible laser line at approximately 100° wide from the P-770 unit.

© 2006 Hybrid College International âThe Rotary Base Plate is designed as a rack platform that allows for quick use of the Rotary Base on any edge (such as a loudspeaker enclosure). âIt can also be mounted on a tripod. SA-S Rotary Base Plate

© 2006 Hybrid College International âThe Variable Line Generator (LG 120) produces a super bright laser line with a dispersion angle that is adjustable from 15° to 100°. LG 120: Variable Line Generator âThis allows for visualization of any loudspeaker’s acoustical dispersion pattern. âUtilizing the variable aperature feature, the dispersion pattern of any tweeter or midrange driver can instantly be “seen” as it emanates from the loudspeaker. âThe interaction between the generated sound waves and existing room geometry can, for the first time, be visually observed in any room or hall.

© 2006 Hybrid College International How does one use the LG 120 to model a loudspeaker’s dispersion pattern? âThe Variable Line Generator (LG 120) can be used on any loudspeaker system by either holding the unit flat against the face of the loudspeaker or by using the optional SA-S steel base plate that allows for “hands-free” operation.

© 2006 Hybrid College International Step By Step Instructions for Projector-to-Screen Orientation âBy combining the use of the 770 Laser Alignment Tool (P-770) and a 2-way Beam Splitter Attachment on a R2-D2 Rotary Base one can both easily and successfully orient any projector to its corresponding screen. âFor detailed step-by-step instructions please refer to the SA-S User Manual.

© 2006 Hybrid College International Step No. 1 âAfter the screen has been installed and positioned, install the P-770 on the R2- D2 Rotary Base and Tripod. Position the assembly as close to the screen as the room layout and existing architecture will allow.

© 2006 Hybrid College International Projector 770 on R2-D2 Rotary Base with 2-way Beam Splitter Attachment Throw Distance Laser Dot Path Projector and Filmscreen Orientation

© 2006 Hybrid College International Step No. 2 âAttach the accessory Beam Splitter Lens and place the 90-degree beam on the centreline of the screen (A/2).

© 2006 Hybrid College International Step No. 3 âAdjust the rotary base thumb as described in the rotary base instructions until the P-770 is on a level plane.

© 2006 Hybrid College International Projector 770 on R2-D2 Rotary Base with 2-way Beam Splitter Attachment Throw Distance Laser Dot Path Screen Orientation

© 2006 Hybrid College International Step No. 4 âParallel the P-770 with the screen by measuring from the screen to the beam at positions B1 and B2. Adjust them to be equal.

© 2006 Hybrid College International Projector 770 on R2-D2 Rotary Base with 2-way Beam Splitter Attachment Throw Distance Laser Dot Path Screen Orientation

© 2006 Hybrid College International Step No. 5 âWith this parallel position lock the thumbscrew tension on the Rotary Base, rotate the beam on the center of the screen, observing it as the beam moves along the screen centerline and ceiling or floor. Continue to rotate the Beam Splitter until the beam is at the manufacturer’s specified distance (C) away from the screen (the distance from the laser dot to the screen plane).

© 2006 Hybrid College International Screen Orientation Projector 770 on R2-D2 Rotary Base with 2-way Beam Splitter Attachment Throw Distance Laser Dot Path

© 2006 Hybrid College International âThe beam now represents the left to right centerline of the screen and the position of the projector relative to the screen centerline.

© 2006 Hybrid College International Step No. 6 âMark this spot.

© 2006 Hybrid College International Lighting Alignment Plates âThe Lighting Alignment Plates in conjunction with the 770 Laser Alignment Tool (P-770) allow for quick, accurate alignment of any lighting system utilizing state of the art laser technology.

© 2006 Hybrid College International How does one use the SA-S Lighting Alignment Plates? âSimply attach the P-770 to the appropriate size lighting plate using the included thumbscrew and slide the entire system onto the mating rails of each light. âThe exact center point of each light can then be transferred to any surface up to 300 feet away eliminating the need for electrical power to be applied or having to handle hot lights.

The Lighting Alignment Plates in conjunction with the 770 Laser Alignment Tool (P-770) allow for quick, accurate alignment of any lighting system utilizing state of the art laser technology. P-770
