TOMELLERI ENGINEERING s.r.l. was founded in 1984 and the activities were design of Machine Tools and Measuring Machines mainly for pipe inspection. Since 1993 our company design, manufacture and sell mobile measuring machines with different axes configuration and several precision class.

Precise and robust design, made to keep long time reliable and accurate measures. All of our arms production is made of CARBON FIBER, ALUMINUM and STEEL, all three materials having stable and durable shape and ideal mechanical characteristics for such kind of device. The arm is very light and easy to handle in every condition of use. Simple mechanical solutions, precise and robust, minimizes the influence of the user during use, and assure reliability and accuracy in any environment. Our arms are designed to maintain a perfect precision shape for a long term use. The desing is specifically oriented to solutions which allow the use of the measurement arm in any environment, and with no influence by the operator either from small impacts and shocks which a manual device is subjected to. All our arms are automatically temperature compensated! Temperataure range of use: deg.C

Smooth and reliable symmetrical counter-balance with wide range for SPACE and EXPLORER arms serie. SPACE & EXPLORER arm series, are equipped with a symmetrical counter-balance system made by 2 mechanical springs. This solution supports the arm axes in a smooth and controlled way, permitting wide range of rotation of the second axis up to 150deg. MICRON arm total Zero-gravity counter-balance The MICRON arm, as an High-precision device, is equipped with an exclusive system which counter-balance the whole axes system, so the arm is very light to handle and avoids any accidental fall. This was made mainly to keep the high accuracy all over the range and minimize the influence of the user.

Electromagnetic Brake when in rest position, the electromagnetic brake, placed on the 2nd axis, activates automatically after 30sec. of inactivity and avoid the accidental fall of the arm. The brake can be also activated manually, locking the 2nd axis in any position (angle), for the best comfort of the user and safety when moving around in a busy environment

Floating Probe The floating probe is a unique probe of its type. Touching briefly the ring close to the tip, takes a single point, pressing and holding the ring takes a stream of points in quick sequence. A set of LED on the probe body illuminate the part when probe is collecting points, while the color change depending the pressure applied: Green (OK) Blinking green (close to the limit) Red (too much load) With the Floating Probe inspections are more precise, having constant pressure when measuring and minimal thermal impact of the user, while are much quicker than a conventional hard probe!

Probe Magnetic Mount(Patent pending) The high repeatability probe mount, ensure an easy and reliable use of the arm, switching from one probe configuration to another, having the system automatically recognizing the type and the parameters of the probe in use. The magnetic mount holds probes of different type (floating probe, hard probe, laser forks) with a set of magnets and an high precision coupling of spheres and cylinders. A mounting ring allows to easy plug in and out different probes without impact for the accuracy, which features a 5 microns of mount repeatability.

EXCLUSIVE FEATURE! on Tomelleri Engineering Arms High precision targeted range: This exclusive feature allows to collect measures with very high accuracy in a targeted, user-defined volumes. Inside the measuring range of the arm, the user can identify a smaller range, where an higher than the standard specified arm’s accuracy is required. Thanks to the special axis software limits feature, defining and limiting the use in predefined volumes, the user can then switch the arm in HIGH PRECISION mode, boosting up to 2 times more accurate! Calibration and certified accuracy at customer site: As introduced before, the arm design is oriented to perfect reliability and accuracy over years of use. The accuracy verification procedure is simply made using common gauge blocks and precision spheres. Our special calibration tripods can be used by distributors and local resellers to calibrate Tomelleri arms at customer site. Wide range of products and special applications The range of products, in terms of measuring range of our arms product line, is the widest in the worldwide market: from 250 mm up to 9 mt. Our arms are interfaced with many popular inspection and reverse engineering softwares, and having an open driver interface to integrate easily any 3rd party software. Upon customer request, we design and manufacture special versions for the most demanding applications. We are specialized in production of measurement arms with very large measuring range but also experts in software development for special measure applications, like complex CAD parts, tooth gears etc..
